- Reboot Your PC
Any application running in background is forced to close when you reboot the system. However, not every time the issue is resolved. After rebooting PC, if you are getting error continuously, then again check for programs running in background and try next steps to get permanent solution.
- Run QuickBooks Software as admin of windows
When any software is opened as admin of windows, then it is treated with priority than other programs. Same is with the QB desktop, therefore it is recommended to open it as a windows admin. It will also allow QB to use all resources that are very necessary for proper working. To do this,
- First close QB desktop, and then right click on the software icon
- Here, select option, “run as administrator” and click “yes” option when appears the prompt.
Check TLS 1.0 in advanced settings option
- For enabling this, close the software and open internet explorer
- Now, click “tools”-”internet options”
- Then navigate to advanced tab and check the option TLS 1.0. As shown in the image
- Next, close window clicking “ok” and then close IE.
- Now open QuickBooks desktop rebooting the computer and then try to download payroll updates again.

- Close QB desktop, go to start & then type & open “run”.

- After system starts again, download latest tax table by opening QuickBooks.
- If still updates are not downloading, then again go to system configuration & choose “normal setup” and restart the PC after clicking ok.
Points to remember while downloading latest payroll tax table?
- You should have active payroll subscription
- After every 45 days you should download tax table
- For getting updates automatically, turn on automatic updates feature.
Downloading tax table is the process of few simple steps: Click “employees”-> “get payroll updates”-> then select “download entire payroll update”.
- After that, click update.
- In the message you will see the information that payroll tax forms have been installed on your pc.
